85 Chapter 16: Download Files with Download Station
Create eMule Download Tasks
You can create eMule download tasks by choosing any of the following methods.
Create by uploading files: Upload a text file (.txt) containing ED2K links from your local computer to
Download Station. To create download tasks by uploading a file, click Download Queue on the left panel.
Click the Create button, choose Open a file, and click the button to browse to the text file for upload.
Create by entering URLs: To create download tasks by entering URLs, click Create. In the window that
appears, choose Enter URL, and enter the URLs of the file you want to download.
Create via eMule search: Click Search on the left panel to search and download the files your are looking for.
To create download tasks, do either of the following.
General search: Enter a keyword in the search field at the top-left corner of eMule, select a file type and
search method.
Advanced search: Click on the down arrow to the right of the Start/Stop search button.
Manage eMule Download Tasks
You can manage the download tasks you just created by clicking Download Queue on the left panel, and check
your shared files currently uploaded to other eMule clients by clicking Uploading.
Set up Xunlei-Lixian
Xunlei-Lixian is not enabled by default. You will need to install the Python package from Package Center before
configuring Xunlei-Lixian’s settings. To enable Xunlei-Lixian, click Settings (the gear icon) next to the search field
at the top of Download Station, go to Download Station > General on the left panel.
Now you can click the Xunlei-Lixian tab at the bottom-left corner of Download Station to manage Xunlei-Lixian
download tasks. For more detailed instructions, please see DSM Help.
Term Explanation
What is Xunlei-Lixian?
Xunlei-Lixian is network download service provided by Xunlei company, utilizing their servers to download
network resources for registered users. Users can then download the files from Xunlei’s remote servers to local
storage. Procurement of a Xunlei-Lixian account is required to use the service.
Create Xunlei-Lixian Download Tasks
You can create Xunlei-Lixian download tasks by choosing any of the following methods.
Create by uploading files: Upload a text file (.txt) containing http, ftp, ed2k, thunder or magnet links from your
local computer to Download Station. To create download tasks by uploading a file, click the Create button,
choose Open a file, and click the button to browse to the text file for upload.
Create by entering URLs: To create download tasks by entering URLs, click Create. In the window that
appears, choose Enter URL, and enter the URLs of the file you want to download.
Manage Xunlei-Lixian Download Tasks
You can check the download tasks you just created by clicking any of the following on the left panel, and use the
buttons along the top of download queue and the tabs below the queue to manage your tasks. For more detailed
instructions, please see DSM Help.
All Downloads lists all download tasks.
Downloading lists download tasks that are currently downloading.
Completed lists download tasks that are completely downloaded.
Expired lists download tasks that have reached its download time limit.
Deleted lists download tasks that are deleted.
